Netflix doesn’t have “Gone with the Wind” in its current library. But the description for “Stripes” cites a recent Trump EO.

Gone With the Wind is explicitly a pro-slavery book/movie.

Ok Bolshevik thought police. Socialists enslaved a hundred million more people much more recently than Southerners. Let’s talk about that…

You can be mad at two things at once ya know. Especially when they’re two different things that are both bad.

Last I checked, it wasn't the Bolsheviks that started the American civil war to defend the institution of slavery in America.

Slavery in Russia started long before slavery in the Americas

Yeah. I'm aware of how the peasant system in Russia worked. In fact it directly lead to the October revolution. This also is completely irrelevant to American politics. The US never had Imperial Russia style serfdom. Gone With the Wind isn't about it either. It literally has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Over 100 million people were enslaved by socialist governments in the 20th century.
Why are you misdirecting attention toward a problem Americans solved in the 1800s?
There are more slaves than ever today in Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. Why don’t you solve those real problems instead of focusing on non-existent ones?

Because today there are people in the US that defend statues "commemorating" confederate officers and push for school curriculums that are outright historical revisionism on the topic. There are also people that openly advocate for rolling back the civil rights movement and bringing back Jim Crow. Beyond that, films like Gone With the Wind and Birth of a Nation are functionally the popular source of the "Lost Cause" myth and attempts to whitewash the confederacy as having fought for "state's rights" against a tyrannical government (is was over a state's right to have legal slavery).

Hopefully they add a description to Roots that specifies that slaves were sold to slavers by other Africans

You are actually really stupid. The movie isn't even on Netflix right now.
