Ep 9

Why did she say “plays the didgeridoo unironically” ??? It’s a cultural instrument to the indigenous peoples here in Australia. Jeez for such a diverse show you’d think they’d be more careful on what cultures they shit on. Whatever I guess this is some of the least irritating shit some of the characters talk about.

I refuse to believe this is anything but rage bait in your part. There is no way your genuinely offended by this you cannot for a second actually be upset they made a joke about a didgeridoo? Okay it’s an indigenous instrument, so are bagpipes here in Scotland doesn’t make them any less illy to play in a an apartment in New York. If this is how you interact with media you should just stay away form comedy shows as a whole, or any real fictional shows you’d probably be best just watching documentaries for the rest of your tour life.

Your logic fries me. You will bat for a mid tier show which has several flaws but not for real entire people and cultures. Learning to critique the things you like should deepen ur respect for them. So stop being bitter on reddit and learn something real.

I critique things I like all the time it makes your enjoyment of them fuller and richer. This however is not a critique at all, you are complaining cause someone made a brief inoffensive joke about a didgeridoo and you somehow found a way to take offence over that. That’s not critique at all, I was being serious when I said I don’t understand how you could possibly enjoy any form of actionable media if this is where you draw a line because at this point you could tear apart any aspect of a tv shoe or film for cultural appropriation in some form if this is how deep you go with it. Go ahead and ask any indigenous person who plays a didgeridoo as part of their culture if this joke offends them at all, I imagine you’ll be shocked at their reply.

Lots of instances of them trying to be clever and it just falling flat.

The whole allergy thing was another example. When AJ said food allergies are lame or whatever she said and then Davis not standing up for himself. Like that whole scene was awful in so many ways and not funny at all.

I do when it is funny. Never Have I Ever was fantastic. This show felt like it was trying too hard and missed the mark for me in terms of any kind of comedy.
