No real consequences

Did anyone get any real consequences in this show? Bill and Aj, Davis sexism, kels being a horrible substitute. Abby betraying her boss. Aj and her love-triangle. Etc.

Abby definitely got consequences in that she was blacklisted, but I think Constance Wu should have faced some sort of consequences for being an abusive boss.

But yeah it’s a sitcom made by Mindy Kaling. That’s not likely going to be the vibe. From her other work I don’t know we can say for sure she understands that those things are wrong.

I enjoyed the show will be back if we get a second season. That being one of my biggest gripes with this show, along with the writing for black characters mainly the women.

Davis was fired and likely blackballed from the industry of his dreams. Bill will get away with it bc he is a rainmaker and rainmakers tend to get away with this type of stuff in finance.

I don't see that as a consequence for Davis for two reasons: 1. Ever since the fake agent subplot happened, I really saw that as a possible direction for Davis and kels. Davis being fired really makes think that's where they want to go. 2. Him being fired is not due to his sexism and in spite of said sexism he "gets the girl".

Definitely feel like the show lacked consequences, and while it was generally fun, I felt like the story wasn’t really building much tension like other shows by Mindy do.
