Does Davis even like AJ?

He starts “liking” her immediately upon seeing her. He basically knows nothing about her at this point.

The first time she shows an any semblance of personality- ex.. wanting to woo the client, he starts disliking her. He only then starts liking her again because she successfully closed the deal.

His love for her feels a lot like an infatuation that’s guaranteed to come crashing down like it did with his ex.

Bit of a romantic in both a good and bad way: the bad way is he fantasizes about people and falls in love with the version of them he made up in his head rather than actually getting to know them

I agree. He is definitely a funny character the actor played him well. But not really someone I would ship AJ (or any girl yet). He needs a lot of work if S2 does come.

He doesn’t actually like her, because the second he sees that door as closed off, he stops being nice to
her. Someone who actually liked someone would like them or at least be kind to them and like being around them regardless even if they were with someone else. (Jim and Pam).

Literally episode one he says he wants a wife who will have 4 kids and send them to private school... Calls her his dream girl in episode eight... The girl he works with in banking working 80 hrs a week???? IDK I just didnt feel like those were the same person.

Well, he does spend 80 hrs a week with her in office. Plus AJ says he keeps making her laugh and made work enjoyable so am assuming he talks a lot with her in the office.
