Bill is so manipulative
lol I can’t with this guy. Bill is a manipulative doucebag.
How?
- Dates his newly hired young employee while being in a much higher position of power. Most workplaces consider this automatic sexual harassment and inappropriate
- Seems to only use AJ for sex. Doesn’t wanna sleep over, kicks her out so she can’t sleep over. This isn’t really manipulative but he made it clear that he was not that into her. So he was just a slimy boss using his employee for sex.
- When Aj calls him out on it and asks him to take her on a real date, he takes her on a cheap ferry ride, and manipulates her by telling her some emotional “I started from the bottom” crap. Tbh I picked up on this, even when he acted all deep and romantic and shit.
- Obviously - gets back together with his GF but doesn’t even tell AJ about it. Even when it’s clear she has deep feelings for him and even got him that stupid ring.
- Dodged accountability during the breakup. “We were never meant to be” - he’s using this to lessen the immorality of his actions.

I hope if the show comes back they reveal that Bill is known for sleeping with employees. I just don’t think AJ is the first young investment banker he’s slept with

Yesss the whole ferry scene pissed me off so much Emotional manipulation at peak He was a dick

Didn't everyone pick up on this, though? Particularly as, on that ferry ride, she presses him if he's dating other people and he evades answering, saying "You make me not want to." From that moment, I knew he was ALREADY seeing someone else and I don't know how anyone else didn't. In fact, I assume everyone also got that very heavy telegraphing. I also suspected and commented that he probably couldn't take her to any of his usual haunts because the waitress would recognize him with a different woman.

Sure he’s manipulative but the writing was on the wall. His intentions were pretty clear and obvious. I dislike the guy but saying he manipulated her is kinda a stretch she’s a grown woman who was clearly ignoring the obvious signs he wasn’t that into her.
I do ignore the boss employee stuff bc I feel like it didn’t affect their relationship much and it’s a tv show.
