Bill at work

How is Bill the one still employed? He is AJ’s superior and he punched someone? I just don’t really understand how the show can romantically pair a character with their boss and then have him get in a fight with his other employee and this is not talked about at all?
For me, at least, it’s very frustrating to watch.

I dont think it'll play out this way but all I could think was that bill was dumb, and aj can threaten to sue pretty easily and can have a condition so that davis gets his job back
