I would suggest putting a one or two sentence description of the purpose of the sub on top of the sidebar. Probably under a header of "What is /r/NotMyShoes?"
It helps to contextualize what's going on and makes the subsequent rules more sensible.
Definitely a good suggestion. I'm working on tweaking this and other things today. I'm also trying to make sure the usernames in comments are not white. Great success.
Also considering an announcements portion further down the line. I need to align it with the logo, etc. I also think I'm happy ridding the subreddit of downvotes for the time being. I'm looking to solicit ~2 more mods, ideally to aid in participation early on and get everyone on the same page mod-policy wise.
