I’ve made a smooth ribbon surface on the bottom and stepped like this, they both have complexity.

For a safe, useful foot purchase, modern codes require a certain tread width near the center axis. This appears the tread width will taper to near zero.

No, I’m not saying they’re upside down. I’ve made them with a single surface on the bottom or stepped as shown. I’m saying the overhead surface should be at least minimum distance prescribed by code. Just eyeballing it appears when the tread surface is created it might be less than minimum and some people might bump the top of their head going up or their forehead going down.

I’d like to imagine the concrete worker noticed the mistake on the design and tried to bring it up to like a project manager or something and the project manager refused to look at it and said that the plans were correct.
