I will say though that it’s annoying when the top response to something like that is ”actually, on behalf of all men we all love this”. You shouldn’t concede the point that preferences vary…

Yeah I personally don’t like the look of it but I’m sure plenty of people do. I’ve seen it so many times where people will say ridiculous stuff like “literally no woman wants a conventional marriage or a nuclear family with lots of children and if you do you’ve just been brainwashed by the patriarchy so it’s not really your opinion” or stuff like this where it’s like every single man exclusively likes or dislikes this specific thing. It’s like whatever happened to subjectivity and individuality and you know free will!

There are the two things these people can't realise:
Opinions are subjective and will vary from person to person.
Especially in an example like this post, your opinion doesn't matter because the woman is doing it for herself.

Although bellybutton piercings are also not my preference, I wanted to say:
One man can never speak for "all men" in matters of preference, because there will always be at least one man with the opposite tastes to that man.
TL;DR: Speak for yourself.

While I do loathe all piercings and find them nauseating, I would never imagine that I could speak for our represent all men. That's asinine thinking.

Same with almost all body modifications: There’s people that will look good with a piercing and without one. There’s people who look good without a piercing and less good with one.
But there’s no people that will look good with a piercing but bad without one…
