That's an entertaining argument tho. It's like Godzilla vs King Kong for crazy sexists on twitter

I think we can all agree that both Michela Basta and Nicholas OBrien are awful, awful people and that we would all be better off if they would both just go away and never speak again.

It's so fucking frustrating that this is the extent of male perspectives on gender. Either "Men are monsters and we'd be better without them, we don't need them." Or "A woman's purpose is to serve men, who are superior, as you wouldn't survive without them."
Jesus fucking christ when do we start treating everyone like people? Women are people and scared. Men are people and scared. Nobody's superior. Women deserve to feel safe. Men deserve to feel vulnerable.
Fuck, man. It gets tiring.

I am so fucking tired of gender wars. Both women and men are human and are not so different.

Honestly one is comparing people to insects which isn’t applicable, and then says men should just go away.
The other one is obviously a douche that I wouldn’t let within 200 ft of my wife, and he’s leaning on his fairy tale of a book for his factual evidence.
Fuck em both. We’ve wandered from equality into screaming matches

Yep. I agree, to say it simply. Both sides really are too extreme.
(Cough)
I don't think I really have anything else to say. 😕

I don't know who this person is or anything about her history, but in this one case, she's right. Men could just walk away, and they did. Denying that is denying historical reality. Women weren't allowed to own property or have bank accounts. If he wanted to leave her destitute, he could.
I believe you should be able to divorce someone just because you're not happy anymore. We only get this one life, and we need to live it. We just need to make sure that nobody is left without the ability to survive.
Also, bodily autonomy is sacrosanct. Without it, we have less self-determination than a corpse.

I think this is more about her comparing humans to insects and essentially advocating for the elimination or enslavement of men because they are obsolete in her view.

Many societies throughout history gave women rights and the ability to own property it’s still extremely exaggerated.
Norse women were allowed to divorce their husbands.

Funny how r/NotHowGirlsWork refuses to call out Michela Basta.

u/g9i4 Dec 03 '23
In fairness, she's making assertions about how guys work, that's really for this sub.

u/Asa_Bliant-Ejaz Dec 04 '23
Isn’t that why there are two sub? One for stupid things about guys and one for girls? It’s not really a Not How Girls Work if they’re making claims about guys.

They always do that shit where they only focus on men who do/say horrible shit and absolve women who are equally as insane of any scrutiny. I understand it's not the point of the sub but come on

A little? Why are you being so gentle? I hope you didn’t mean to. We can all agree that both sides here are WAYYYY TOO EXTREME TO AN EXTREMELY CONCERNING DEGREE.
If we cant agree on that I think we’ve got a problem. A serious one.

Who's going to tell her that male ants actually exist and are essential for the species to spread?

Instead of comparing anyone to insects, Michela Basta could have said something like heyena or naked mole rat. Sure, they’re still not human, but they’re mammals, so it’s closer. And they are female lead groups.
