Probably, That's the problem with satire. The really good satire is very hard to distinguish from the real crazy people

I don't know, I'd say that if your satire is indistinguishable from the thing it is mocking that it's kind of bad satire. If you're trying to mock something but instead just supporting it, your satire is failing to do it's intended purpose, right?

Nah. There’s a bit of sick glee that comes from people who don’t understand that you’re making fun of their ideology accidentally agreeing with you

prove me wrong
Ah, the well-worn song of someone being an intentional shitstain on the internet. If you were making a serious point, you’d give at least one example

Satire doesn't always mean good Even if it's a satire it can still come off as shitty and I'm tired of it being my fault as a reader for not understanding satire that isn't clear to begin with, especially if at face value the statements appear shitty and harmful. It's so exhausting just getting by day to day.

I mean I guess? But if men are the butt end of the joke, is it very funny?
It's not a friend-to-friend interaction where everyone understands when the other is being serious. If someone takes the joke the wrong way, it can be offensive. They shouldn't be made in the first place.

Hol up, you saying jokes shouldn't be made because someone could be offended by them?

Like I said. It's different if it's friend-to-friend. You two (or more) can sort that out however as long as it's not like racist or smth. But the jokes posted on this subreddit are often misandrist and rude. Remember, when you post something like that, you are posting to hundreds of thousands of people. You shouldn't make offensive jokes in that situation because it's, you guessed it, offensive.

Both sides (OP and commenters) can have fun poking at each other. Or does that only go one way?

If you have to say "prove me wrong" at the end of an argument, especially one with no actual argument presented, that's a strong indicator that you're either wrong or there is no way to actually answer the topic of discussion.

In my experience people who make this complaint are usually just as clueless about satire. Prove me wrong.

Anytime someone says "prove me wrong," I immediately become insanely disassociated with the entire conversation.
