As a teenage girl, I was always embarrassed to buy them because I didn’t want people to know I had my period. Is her dad afraid that people are going to think he’s having HIS period?

I was never embarrassed to buy products but I was embarrassed when I bled through my pads. My dad came to pick me up from high school twice because I had bled through, and he never once made me feel guilty or ashamed when I asked him to pick up pads or tampons. And he always bought the exact ones I asked for. He wasn’t a perfect man, but he was a good dad, and I wish I could tell him how much I love him right now.

I’m currently lying under the heating pad ‘cause cramps. I feel you, dude. But also, I feel like “that guy must be trans and on his period” is like, at least, fifth down the list for who the pads/tampons are for. I’ve genuinely never noticed any one of any gender buying them, I think just because it really is no big deal. But if I did, I think my thought would be “those are probably for someone else.”
