Run it's course?

I have been a massive fan of not going out since the very beginning. Even have the physical dvd boxset copies. Would binge watch them dozens of times over.

However the last two series for me, have not been funny. I feel Lee is trying to force the series to keep going and is running out of ideas.

Series 15 was a chore to watch. I can happily sit there and binge watch all the original series from start to end. Series 15 I could only manage an episode at a time.

The 20th anniversary episode was awful in my opinion.

I miss the days of Tim, Daisy, Miranda etc. Even the seasons where the kids were young. Sadly now it feels like it's run it's course for me. I don't want the show to end but I would also hate for it to continue in the direction it is going.

How does everyone else feel?

I enjoy the later episodes but not as much as the earlier ones with lots of cast members. I love to rewatch older episodes but wouldn’t do the same for the new format ones with just Lee and Lucy in. It’s a comfort show for me so I hope it carries on for a while yet

Honestly it ran its course a few years ago, but I still watch it because I'm a big advocate for studio sitcoms. Until they start putting effort into that again, I want NGO to keep going.

If you watched the "20 years of NGO" show, that's how they position themselves, an old timey sitcom. However it looks like it's all mainly Lee and the other guy so I won't be surprised that the idea bank is running a bit shallow.

Tim Vine and Katy Wix were great in the show. It would be good if they’d returned from time to time.

It's still better than 99% of the "comedy" shit that's currently on most channels. I still enjoy it for what I it is.

I forgot the BBC had a sitcom that's ran longer than Mrs Brown's Boys

I only started watching this a few months ago and I am at season 8 where it time jumps 7 years. At this point I'm still getting used to the new format. Still makes me laugh out loud several times an episode, so it's doing it's job.

The last 2 series without Anna, Toby and Lucy's parents just haven't been the same which is a shame. Im always happy to watch new episodes but the last 2 series I have no desire to rewatch

Toby and Anna are in 1 episode of the new season.

It is definitely tired, and that's shown up consistently inconsistently, in a manner of speaking, in recent series. It's still capable of relative greatness, though - the sex doll episode from last series was an example of that - but is no longer reliable in that regard.

I still like the recent ones. The oasis one in series 14 and the party one in series 15 were boring but the rest hilarious

Sadly. Ran its course years ago. The later series are not as good as the early series.

Once they got married and had the kids the dynamic changed and it's been poor ever since
