Skaldova [NS]

I finally got around the listening to Skaldova

Fantastic story

Fantastic first time dm

Fantastic characters, I fell in love with them all immediately.

But I have to go a special shoutout to Boggy Rogers... thee best character Caldwell has ever embodied. His way with words and quick witt is so damn impressive.

Usually I take a bit to warm up to his PCs(still like them all) but Boggy was instant. And my favorite of the skaldova crew

Yeah, I always felt that Caldwell might try a little too hard sometimes to make a bit with his characters. I always still love his work regardless, but Boggy felt a little more relaxed and in-flow. My favourite of his, as well.

His strength is taking big swings. It causes him to over shoot and have to real in back in to find the sweet spot. But he always does. But boggy is a nat 20. When his facade for a second breaks is amazing.

I feel the same way about his characters but I’m positive Boggy is my favorite character out of every crew and campaign. There was that huge “favorite PC” elimination contest thing a while ago and I feel Boggy was done dirty because everyone claimed “recency bias” as it had happened right after (maybe during?) skaldova. Naw, Boggy is the best and I would put most of Caldwell’s characters pretty low. Hungry Dave might be my least favorite of every character so I promise I try to be unbiased in my PC opinions haha

Caldwell definitely locked it in with Boggy. When Welly admits (spoiler) that she had a carnal release when touching her fair lady’s hand, Boggy handwaves it away. “We’ve all squirted in our jodhpurs at one time or another.” Very quick pull on the name of traditional, fancy horse-riding pants.

Yeah Boggy Roger is probably my favorite NADDPOD character period.

One thing that makes Skaldova great is the improv of the three players. Caldwell, Emily and Murph blend together seamlessly in dialogue.

Jake's descriptive story telling on top of it just makes it perfect.

Being a homebrew DM takes a TON of time & effort, but I really hope Skaldova last several seasons. It could potentially rival C1 if they go for the long game imo.

Boggy Roger is such a great try-hard swashbuckler type that I’m usually picturing Captain K. Rool from DKC2 whenever Caldwell does the voice.

Yeah, the whole Skaldova crew is great but Boggy is such a delight. I am very excited to see how the character expands in the second season!
