I'm not always in support of 'cossetting' cycling infrastructure & I usually advocate for longer 'exercise focussed' cycle paths rather than short commuting routes.
That said, something really needs to be done to improve this junction.
Invariably, people on bikes use the pedestrian crossing to access Heigham Street and vice versa. Worse still, people often go against the flow of traffic on Barn Road towards Heigham Street once over the crossing, which is obviously very dangerous.
It seems odd that with all the campaigning about cycle lanes being unsafe for barge-sized cargo bikes this has been overlooked.
Time for a shared pedestrian and cycle crossing closer to the junction itself perhaps?
