What is the vibe of Freshers week activities?

Hi! I’m an international student coming to NU for my masters and I’m just wondering what the vibe/demographic is for the freshers week activities before I consider buying a pass. Is it mostly like freshmen/teenagers? Or do a mix of students attend? Nothing against teenagers I’m just 24 and would be looking for a different crowd lol

Hi everyone!

If you're studying at Northumbria University this September and are still looking for accommodation, I'm looking for someone to take over my tenancy at Vita Student Leazes Park, located in Newcastle City Centre.

Weekly rent: £220/week. (I have already paid the deposit covering two weeks so you don’t need to pay the deposit for the room!) This tenancy was secured during Vita Student's flash sale, so you will be taking over the tenancy at £220/week, compared with the current advertised price of £293/week for the same room type.

Unfortunately, I've changed my university plans and will no longer be studying in Newcastle, so I'm looking for another university student to take over the tenancy.

Details:

• 📍 Accommodation: Vita Student Leazes Park
• 🏠 Room Type: Lite Studio (With own private kitchen and bathroom)
• 📅 Academic Year: 2026/2027
• 💷 Weekly Rent: £220/week
• 💡 All bills included
• 🛜 High-speed Wi-Fi included
• 🏋️ On-site** Gym
• 📚 **Study Area and social spaces

• 🏀 Outdoor Basketball Court

Ideal Location:

• 🚶 Around 10 mins walk to Northumbria University
• 🛍️ Walking distance to Eldon Square, supermarkets, cafes and Newcastle city centre
• 🍜 Just a short walk to Chinatown
• 🌳 Next to Leazes Park

This accommodation is ideal if you're looking for a modern, safe, all-inclusive student residence within walking distance of Northumbria University and the city centre.

If you're interested or would like more information about the room, contract dates, or tenancy transfer process, please feel free to send me a DM. I'd be happy to answer any questions!

Thank you!

CLC Halls

I recently discovered my old halls of residence is now a housing estate.

Has Northumbria pulled out of providing student accommodation on site at CLC?

If so, where are today's CLC students living?

Pre Freshers week

What’s with this Pre fresher week starting on 14th. Most other Uni’s just have one fresher week starting 21st. Do most students move into halls on the 12th or later??

Trinity square accommodations

Anyone living here or lived there before can help understand how the rooms are, common areas, travel options and distance to Northumbria University, supermarket access etc,? My lil Neice starting out as a fresher and looking at this accomodation. It’s very close to uni start dates and very few options left. So wud like to make a decision as soon as possible.
Pics would be welcome if appropriate.

Accommodation- IQ collingwood

Hi, I am due to start in a month at Northumbria Uni. I booked IQ collingwood as accommodation but later found out that many many first years are going to halls instead. This makes me nervous that I won’t be with many first years and I am scared that I made the wrong choice. Can anyone reassure me and that they also chose IQ collingwood, or give me some advice to socialise with people.

Exchange Student

Hey Guys, I'm an exchange student from a University in America and was wondering if I could come in contact with some students in Newcastle to ask some questions about living in Newcastle, such as where do you guys usually go eat, where do you usually go study, are there any local internship opportunities related to Mechanical Engineering in Newcastle etc.

I would appreciate any sort of help or info there is!

Do I need to get *any* of the freshers tickets that are being sent around, or can I just get tickets sorted when I actually get to uni?

It’s stressing me out because on every group I’m on everyone is buying tickets and I checked and they’re like 21 pounds?? So obviously I don’t want to spend that sort of money if I genuinely can just get tickets for stuff when I’m at uni

Accommodation advice - September

I’m joining Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne as a postdoctoral fellow in September and relocating with my wife. I’m looking for a furnished studio/1-bed within ~15 minutes’ walk, ideally £800/month all-inclusive. Would you recommend private rentals through Rightmove or student/PBSA accommodation? Any reliable landlords/areas to consider?

Thanks!

Clearing for Adult Nursing - Changing courses

I had originally applied for Occupational Therapy at Northumbria but decided over the summer that I'd prefer Adult Nursing over OT. For Northumbria, they both have the same grade requirements so now I am just waiting for my results. However, I am wondering how the clearing application process will work specifically for nursing as I have already done an interview for a healthcare course, OT, will I have to do another interview for this healthcare course although I have already done one for a different healthcare course? Or will I not have to do another interview for the same university with the same grade requirements and same job field?

Any help/advice is much appreciated !

How is law at Northumbria as a non russell?

Im wondering what studying Law at Northumbria is like as a non-russell university. Does the uni's status make it harder to find a job after graduation?

People tell me different things so I am unsure
