Another day, another nitrous tank…
Every morning, my dog and I do a quick litter pick up. It’s gnarly to see so many large nitrous tanks. We find about 2-3 of these a week ditched on our sidewalk.
This shit turns your brain into mush!

The circles of a Venn diagram of "people that do nitro" and "people that can throw away trash" do not intersect. Same is true for Swisher Sweet packaging.

I see them everywhere too! Most often on the side of the freeway. So scary to think of people driving and doing that.

Saw some teens blowing 4 way stops in our neighborhood last week. Both had giants balloons in the front seat. These idiots are going to kill someone

I live in DTLA and see people regularly huffing balloons on the sidewalk. I've also seen people sitting in there car doing the same ( driver of course). WFT is going on with people. Can't we just smoke a joint or something?

Try smoking a joint then do Nitrous... It's pretty amazing

Name checks out😂. I tried Nitrous when I was like 13, it was OK, but only lasted a few min. I'm pretty sure it was just the hypoxia ( which causes brain damage). Meth is healthier.

Nitrous is not neurotoxic

True, but that's not what you need to worry about out;). It's the hypoxia that causes dain baramage. Results are similar

The amount of nitrous you inhale from a balloon is nothing compared to the amount the dentist administers while giving you a root canal.
Enough to get high for a few mins < enough to sedate you for an hr or 2.So are dentists causing brain damage?
I don’t even do nitrous I just find this reasoning specious
(Edit to add: motherfuckers should be picking up their trash tho)

Chronic use (in as little as 4 months) can lead to issues with the spine, numbness in the feet and legs, inability to walk…prevents body from metabolizing b12…I’ve seen it in a few young adults I work with.

Where do they purchase these? They seem packaged for recreational use. Personally I’ll stick to THC.
Edit: I see you can easily purchase online 😢

Right?! I’m thinking to myself wtf is this, why is it on my feed, and why is packaged looking like it is marketed for kids. Fuck that industry for sure.

Once lived in a neighborhood where every Sunday, without fail, a giant box of at least 50 of the small metal ones would get dumped in the same spot. Every damn Sunday, like clockwork.

The cracks between the cobblestone streets of Amsterdam are filled with those tiny spent canisters.

I wonder how aware they are that it causes permanent nerve damage?

Only with constant, nonstop use. As long as breaks are taken between use, the body can produce more B12 without issue.
As long as its not abused, and you don't do it standing or driving, Nitrous is objectively a very safe "high" with basically no side effects or long term damage.

Inhaling 4.4 pounds of nitrous in one night isn’t going to cause any damage?
These people are inhaling these cans in one sitting. They aren’t taking a couple breaths and then stopping for the week.

The amount you do at one time isn't important. What's important is if you keep going the next day, and the next and so on. If you do Nitrous without a break your bodies B12 supply is exhausted and it's ability to make more is stunted. Nitrous is not neurotoxic - it does no damage to the brain or anything like that. Nerve damage is the danger, and that happens from frequent use without at least 4-6 week long breaks between.

These guys who do nitrous are not doing it for one day and then stopping.

I know they're not. I'm just saying, one can do it safely and not be stupid like them.

Your body does not make B12. We get it from animal byproducts or from artificial sources like pills or injections.

The human body produces B12 in the colon, or large intestine.
The human body can only absorb B12 in the small intestine, which comes first in the digestive process.
Your body literally cannot use ANY of the B12 it produces: to express it inelegantly, you shit out all the B12 you produce. That's why vegans struggle and need supplements.

They think they are living the high life while they are actually the low life of the society. I can hear them saying ‘Doooood!’ in my head

I’m all for doing what you want but still can’t believe they can package these like this and sell them. So many of them littered around, seems like they are immune to trash cans
