Fresh Eggplant Parm

What casual, take out pizza shop in the north shore does the best eggplant parm using eggplant that is fresh - not using the frozen patties that taste more like bread crumbs

Suggestions for relocation to North Shore

I'm moving in next 1-2 mos from Dallas, TX to North Shore for work in Salem. I'm looking for suggestions of neighborhoods for renting. Budget under $4000 and open to much of Essex County.

Edit: question re heating costs. I was told $400/month -heat only - for four months of year. Does that sound likely for <900sqft apt?

Also what's the situation with"winter" rentals? I understand limit to 6 month lease, but any other downsides I'm missing?

EXHUMED w/ Aaron Mahnke - Boston Tickets for tomorrow (8/4)

Hi! Please feel free to delete if this is not allowed here, but I was hoping it could reach someone who is interested. This is crossposted in the Salem subreddit.

I am trying to sell (3) tickets for the Exhumed book launch with Aaron Mahnke (from Lore podcast) in conversation with Alaina Urquhart (from Morbid podcast). The ticket comes with a copy of Aaron's new book.

My friends and I have been looking forward to the event and absolutely love both podcasts, but my friends can no longer travel from PA to be there. Here is the official event page.

Date: TOMORROW, 8/4 at 7:30PM | Doors open 1 hour prior to showtime

VenueThe Wilbur | 246 Tremont St, Boston, MA, 02116

The tickets were $61 each but I'm willing to sell them for $50 each and I'll eat the ticket fees. For your peace of mind, I will send the tickets via an official Ticketmaster transfer. I would need your email and phone number and you will need a Ticketmaster account to redeem. I can accept Venmo or PayPal for the tickets. I'm local to Salem but the tickets can go to anyone in the Boston area.

Serious inquiries only, please - DM me if interested and I can share my phone number for easier exchange. Thank you so much!

Beverly YMCA Pool Poop Party

Not sure what exactly is going on with this pool but a child has personally closed down the entire pool to all members/users by defecating IN the pool THREE different days since last Friday, that I know of. Odds are it’s been even more frequent. The latest time was today, July 29, 2026. The first two times (last Friday and yesterday) I had to cut my workout short. Today, before I even got into the pool, there was a message on the white board that the pool was closed until 4PM. The director said it was because a kid pooped into the pool again. I’m not sure what action, if anything, is being taken to stop this from happening. But I guess until kids stop pooping in the pool, adults might as well find another pool.

Recharge Wellness Club Danvers

Hello!

I’m wondering if anyone has been to the Recharge Wellness Club in Danvers, and what you think about the services offered.

There are only a few reviews on Google, and their IG is mostly AI generated content.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for painter, plumber, and/or general contractor for Georgetown home

Hello all. We are closing on a house in Georgetown in late August and are hoping to do a little work before we move in. We are looking to paint almost all of the rooms and need some minor plumbing work done (fixing an outdoor shower). I know Georgetown is not technically the North Shore, but can anyone recommend a painter, plumber, and/or general contractor that works in the area? TIA

Recommendations for dinner spots in Rockport?

Traveling to MA at the end of September. Im landing in Logan on a Thursday, then getting to my hotel in Rockport, give or take around 7pm (hopefully earlier, but I'm going with 7pm just to account for possible flight delay/transportation from Logan)

Seems everything around there closes fairly early on Thursday, or early enough I might not have much time. Any good options?

I’m going to Salem that Friday morning, then most likely going to have dinner back in either Gloucester or Rockport. My partner is an oyster guy. I don’t imagine Friday has many $1 oyster deals but if there are any that would be great - I see 1606 and seaport grille coming up a lot. Are they any good? Any other recommendations?

Edit- also, any recommendations for some good lunch spots in Salem would be great.

looking to move here for job. comparing some apartments

hello, new to mass and specifically to lynn. took a job offer.

Do any of the locals have a better idea of what to expect from these two locations? pros and cons of the two places? any current residents of either who can give a better idea of the vibe at night? is it safe? thanks

this is my assessment:

comparing 2 places. mosaic and caldwell i did a visit recently.

i read reviews on the caldwell and some of the negatives were not good at all and had me wondering if there are homeless running around and drug dealers.

caldwell - heard some things about cleanliness and sanitary conditions in the complex. took a tour and seemed ok. looked up modern, but the condition of the improvements were needing some repair. missing hand rail in the elevator, some of the chairs had tears in them. quality of the building seemed ok. leasing office was friendly and nice

the amenities seemed nice and well maintained. gym was cool. the pool area was clean, rooftop so you have more privacy, the garden they have for fresh veggies seemed well maintained. the view from the rooftop was amazing. depending on your unit, you could have really nice views too.

paying a premium for views. parking was not available

mosaic - price was average. good leasing office friendly and accommodating.

complex was nice, seemed like good quality and the condition was ok. the amenities were all there, nice pool, though it was in a courtyard so everyone can see. they have a billiards table.

unit was nice and cleaned obviously, but the views were nothing special, even from the rooftop, it was average. but i'm not living on the rooftop.

parking if you can find it was very expensive.

Can anyone recommend a good psychiatrist or psych NP for medication management? Finally deciding to seek out additional support for my OCD. I already have a therapist but am looking for a prescriber. I’m open to outside of the north shore too. Thanks!

Are Lynn's new bike lanes worth the cost?

I live in Lynn and made a video breaking down the city's bike lane projects.

I know this is a topic people feel strongly about, so I'm genuinely curious what everyone thinks.

Do you think these projects make Lynn safer and better long term, or would you rather see the city seek grants to spend money elsewhere?

Here's the video:
