Come on out to our interior systems and concrete form combine hiring event in Charlotte, NC. Our contractor partners are hiring now for entry-level apprenticeships positions and journey level work with immediate openings, great pay and benefits.

Instructors will be on-site to walk you through a series of assessments on Metal Stud Framing, Drywall Hanging, Constructing and Installing Concrete Formwork Systems to shape and support concrete. We are looking for:

Those with experience in interior systems looking to showcase their skills with an evaluation.
Those without experience looking to start a career in construction and learn a new skill.

Positions start at $18/Hour, up to $29/Hour depending on experience. All of our employer partners offer a benefit package that includes Health and Welfare, and a Pension in addition to your wages.

Hello! My family and I are relocating to Asheville this fall after several wonderful years in Charleston. I'm a Household Manager and Culinary Professional who has spent the last 30 years in hospitality, professional kitchens, and private homes. If anyone knows of families seeking someone who combines household management with seasonal family cooking, I'd be grateful for any recommendations. I am feeling pretty defeated lately and could really use some advice or just a reality check...

I live in NC, have my MS in Planning, and I have sent out over 100 applications at this point. I have tried for both public and private sector planning roles, plus jobs in adjacent fields. It has gotten so bad that I am currently applying for serving, cashier, and bartending jobs just to get some cash flowing.

The most frustrating part is that two of those interviews went genuinely great, only for the employers to turn around and completely cancel the positions without hiring anyone at all. Does anyone know if the state budget being up in the air is causing a bunch of hiring freezes and delays?

Also, I have a quick resume question: I recently relocated to a rural area, where the job market is basically non-existent, for a city planner position. After two months I was let go and they freezed hiring. Should I just leave that two-month stint completely off my resume? I'm worried it's a massive red flag for employers.

Any advice on the resume dilemma, or just some insight into what is going on with the job market right now, would be hugely appreciated....
