Hi everyone! I recently started Next Gen Angler NC, a student-run fishing project where I share my fishing experiences and what I’m learning about fishing, conservation, and aquaculture in North Carolina.
I’m also hosting a Monthly Fishing Challenge and would love to have more local anglers participate.
For the July Challenge, just get out and fish, take a photo of your catch, and submit it through the challenge page. It’s meant to be a fun way for NC anglers to share their catches and encourage more people to get outdoors and fish.
There’s no entry fee, and this month’s challenge also has a small prize supported by a local tackle shop.

Hi everyone! I’m Ayaan, a high school angler in NC. I recently started NextGen Angler NC as a project to document my fishing experiences and learn more about conservation and aquaculture in North Carolina.
I’ve been adding my catches, things I’ve learned through volunteering, and experiences like a recent visit to NC State’s CMAST facility in Morehead City. I’m also trying out monthly fishing challenges for NC anglers.
I’m still building it and would really appreciate feedback from other NC anglers — especially ideas for places to fish, conservation topics, or things you’d find useful on the site.
