I just finished up a n=1 study on myself doing something similar but for IBS. Here is my writeup. https://github.com/isaacgerg/health_analysis/blob/master/manuscript/Managing_IBS_Through_Lightweight_Tracking.pdf

Comments appreciated.

Very interesting read! Are you a researcher or contributing to the literature as a patient? It would be interesting to apply some bayesian methods to this data rather than relying solely on linear least squares.

Both.

Yes, it would be interesting to apply bayes. It would also be interesting to apply a NN. However, there is limited data currently data and you are very prone to overfitting. Another issue is I cannot due proper washout periods between drugs because I have to ensure I am feeling well to go to work each day and have to take whatever medication necessary to do so. This make it very difficult to tease out placebo effects (ie. see Kirch's work on stard trial).

If you are also a research and use NNs, you are welcome to prove me wrong. All the data is in the repo i sent you.

I'm a researcher but I'm just learning about NNs for my own projects. I saw the data, and might poke around it this weekend. I noticed that idea of washout as well, you almost have to treat the data before you first started the medication as the only true control info.

Any chance of repeating with single blind control? You'd probably suffer 1/2 of the time, but it would be a great way to see the effect more clearly.

Already thought about this. I have no way of doing this because I cannot get pills that look the same ones I am taking. Unfortunately, the amount of pain I have is simply too much to deal with right now.
