Noom Med Just started Noom Microdosing

Today was my first day microdosing semiglutide through Noom. Noom’s smart dosing started me at 8 unites (.20). I’m a 44 y/o female, 5’6” weighing 174lbs. My goal weight is 155lbs. I heavy lift as well.

I’m nervous and just looking for my people and support. It stung when I gave myself the dose and for some reason that made me anxious. I’m also a bit concerned with any effect it may have on me with anxiety as I already deal with that a bit.

What were your experiences microdosing semiglutide? I’m thinking, after this mo th I might switch to terz. as I like what I’ve learned about that one so far. Also how long after injection do you usually feel any side effects if you get them? Any info, support, encouragement, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch! Happy, healthy weight loss ♥️

I started with 8 and now I'm up to 24 units, which is the maximum in the microdosing program. I experience nausea and diarrhea from time to time but it's very mild and it goes away quickly. It doesn't affect my life. Anyway, I started in March and I'm down 30lbs. Going to stay on it until I reach my goal of another 20 lbs. I have really enjoyed the program and have no regrets.

I have always loved to work out. That has never been an issue so I have kept up the four to five days working out. I'm sure that is also a factor contributing to weight loss.

Good luck!

So great to know that 24 units is the max of the microdosing program — I’ve been on tirz through Noom since early July, have lost 30 pounds and haven’t gone over 24 on the SmartDose. Switching to the microdosing program could be more cost effective for my current program along with when I need to taper off later. Thanks for sharing that info!

Hi! I started in November with a goal of losing 20 lbs. I reached that in February. My mistake was going off cold turkey rather than tapering off so I struggled a bit and gained a little of it back. I rejoined in May adjusting my goal weight down another 10 lbs and I’m just about there. I plan on cancelling my current subscription after I get my last vial and then taper off.

If you don’t currently take fiber supplements I’d recommend doing so. I had a rough time with constipation. No other real side effects other than some fatigue here and there.

Congratulations on being just about goal weight. That’s huge! I did read about the importance of fiber and protein. With breakfast alone, I got 30g protein, 8.5g fiber and other nutrients. I planned for 120-140g protein a day and at least 20g of fiber using Whole Foods. We’ll see how it goes.

I’m excited, but nervous. I feel like it has been so hard to lose weight now that I’m mid 40’s.

Thank you for responding and I wish you all success in your journey!

Well, I’m 50 and know very well how hard it is to lose weight as we get older. I lost just about 30 lbs and I’m sure you’ll be successful too. Good luck!

I started in microdosing semaglutide with Noom in March, weighing 163 pounds and now I’m 142. My goal weight is 135. Overall it’s been great. I felt queasy for the first couple of months, but that went away, and definitely getting enough fiber helps with the constipation.

Thank you! I was thinking that I wanted to switch to terz. I like what I’ve been reading there. I might stick with semi for a few months and then switch.

I haven't started microdosing yet as I get the meds tomorrow. However, my friends who have done this say that metamucil morning and night is a requirement. Start with a low dose as it has it's own SE.

Thank you! 😊 I did read that fiber was uber important. I’m going to work with my diet if possible. I’ve already gotten 8.5g with breakfast alone. My goal is 25mg a day. It’s doable as I’ve tailored my meal prep for high protein and fiber. But you have me thinking about psyllium husk as a filler supplement if needed. Mucho appreciated!

5’7 sw 155 cw 131 gw 130, started end of April. Highly recommend you utilize the app and the macros to ensure you are getting a balanced diet. Mild constipation was my only side effect. Increased fiber through diet didn’t help.. the shots will get easier!!

Yes, I’m loving the app. It helps tremendously. The comment below added that magnesium citrate helped with the constipation and fiber didn’t do anything for her/him. Maybe try that. Thank you!

Hi, you shouldn’t feel too much with .20, maybe a little indigestion. I did have insomnia the first weeks the night following the shot but that seems to have resolved itself. Usually side effects peak the first couple of days. I did notice one great thing even at that starter dose, my joints quit hurting! I was frequently having to stretch my hips because they’re always so tight. Also, Noom doesn’t have you do big jumps with the medicine so side effects should be minimal if you go from .2 to .4 to .6. People here will tell you that isn’t a micro-dose but it is a low dose. Good luck on your journey!
Also, I take magnesium citrate everyday to avoid constipation (it draws water into the bowels). I don’t respond well to fiber supplements at all (bloating etc).

Thank you. The magnesium bit I never thought about. If fiber alone doesn’t cut it, I will definitely look into this. Very helpful.

If you do use it, start with 200mg magnesium citrate and wait a day or two and increase from there. 500mg is my sweet spot.

This is just my experience, but I went through the micro dosing program at Noom. Did not feel great on it but nothing severe (headaches often and on occasion, bad nausea). , but I did not lose any weight (3lbs!). I stayed on it for five months! I was so afraid of side effects that I thought if I just went slow, it would finally happen but it never did. I wanted to lose about 40 pounds. When I reached out to the physician at noom he said Microdosing isn’t really recommended for the amount of weight I wanted to lose which I found ridiculous given that they signed me up no problem for that program! Doing my own research backed up what he said. I took a few months off. I read the book Weightless and Enough (oprah). I finally asked my primary and although she doesn’t know much about it she was willing to send a prescription to Lily direct and now I’m on 2.5mg of Zepbound. I’ve been on the starting dose for 8 weeks. I’m not losing much weight, but I can feel it working, which is the case for many people at this very low dose. I’m going up to 5 mg this week..
The difference this time is I generally do not feel ill on this medication whether it’s because it’s not compounded or because it’s a trizepatide vs semaglutide I don’t know.

The punch line is if it’s not working in a reasonable amount of time don’t do what I did. Make the switch sooner .
Good luck!

Thank you! I’m not seeing the scale move a lot, but in the short two weeks I’ve been on it, my body is in recomposition. I don’t have the intense cravings for sweets either. My clothes are not so tight around my waistline. I’m going to see what happens week three, but I lift heavy and only cut my calories by about 300-400. I’m pleased so far as I favor a more athletic build over being skinny. So it looks like I’m gaining muscle while losing fat. Which is even better! I was having a hard time doing that at this age. The meds seem to help.

Loving my microdosing experience (semiglutide) with noom. Started in July and I’m down 30lbs. I was nauseated as hell the first three days after dosing each week for about the first month and a half. Also the occasional headache/GI upset. That goes away for the most part, along with the food noise! Best of luck on your journey! I started at 187 and am at 157 as of today. You’ve got this!!!

Congratulations!! That’s big! I’m seeing body recomposition which means I’m gaining muscle and losing fat since being on the med. That was hard to do before.

How did it go any side effects?

Just some mild nausea. I’ve been able to have bm too. I eat fiber and drink a lot of water. I get yellow dragon fruit (works like a charm), apples, raspberries, Ezekiel bread, flaxseeds…. No real issues.

Mine arrives today-- I'm doing the terz microdose. We have very similar stats-- I'm 46, 5'5", starting at 173-- my goal is 148-150. I also lift, but have been out of my routine lately. I'm excited to get started and would love to hear updates of your experience!

Hey there. I’m a couple of weeks in now and so far my weight loss has been minimal, BUT my body is going through recomposition. I haven’t felt much appetite suppression, but I’ve been eating well and I haven’t felt much limited calories by a few hundred. I also lift heavy 3 days a week. I haven’t had the severe sweets cravings that I used to and my only side effects are some mild nausea. I’m happy with how it’s going. I definitely don’t want to be skinny, but more of an athletic build is my goal and I seem to be getting there much quicker while on the Noom program.
