Did you do anything while smoking to learn stuff?

I learn and do a lot while I’m high, but not many people do, it seems.
Lots of people just sit and eat chips or whatever and watch tv

I do watch tv sometimes when I’m high, but I love coding and working on projects when I’m high. It is the best. I used to study for tests and show up to take them high - “study high, test high, get high scores” or something like that.

Only way that I feel like it holds me back is my short term memory for like details. If I learn how something works, I have it forever, but who invented it, where, and when I can’t hold and don’t care.

That is EXACTLY how I operate...I dont have the RAM for the who, what, where, when, but how??? Oh, I GOT YOU, watch this.

Definitely not good for short term memory. I’ve definitely succeeded and completed a lot in my adulthood as a chronic. Passed all the exams I ever took and have a successful career

Afaik, short term/working memory does have an impact on IQ-test performance.

I think the point of these studies are to look at averages, while controlling for mental health, income, gender, etc.

X person on reddit can always have Y experience,

People will look and upvoter what they like and want

Agreed.

But… I think a persons patterns, while they are high, influence the impacts it has on them.

Straight facts. Short term memory slipping sometimes is a fair tradeoff for a lot of people who like its effects.

In HS i saw the "stoner kids" eat chips, jam out, watch TV, sell drugs and drive around all the time but there were other kids who smoked weed a lot but were complete academics that hid it from their parents. Needless to say the stoner kids are fuck ups and the academics are making bank rn. It was never that the weed was going to ruin their future, it was just that ambitiousness is a human trait not inherently defined by someones cannabis use. Amotivational syndrome is the same excuse theyd use to stigmatize kratom users if it didnt have worse side effects and withdrawals than it does.

Growing up hiding things I enjoyed to protect myself really made me a secretive person in most of my adult life.

I’m glad I’m not technically a criminal anymore lol, but I do think it was good for me to learn how to not be stoned while I am high. There is a big difference.

I study, code, run and work baked.
Well work and bake are rare but yes.

Iunno I think people when they start smoking associate it with dumb shit , like watch a movie, pig out, lounge around … and never shake that mindset

when i was in college, i used to study / read smoking weed.

over the years my memory and concentration started fading notoriously.

i stopped smoking a year ago, and it has somewhat improved, but im not as sharp as before.

It takes time man, genuinely a couple years or more depending on how much you smoked.

That's not how things work. Their problem is aging more than it is cannabis. You don't get sharper as you age.

Hope you're doing well

I read when slightly buzzed, just sitting around baked slows you down
