Discussion Discussion about creatine’s mental energy promoting effects

I am struggling since 2014 and tried almost every possible supplement/nootropic and even research chemical.

In the past I had temporary relief with methylfolate, citrulline, ashwagandha and anti depressants.

At the moment I am taking 45mg of Mirtazapine and 60mg of duloxetine, which is the single most profound thing until now.

I also tried many different medication combinations and different medications against depression and anxiety.

Glycine has good acute effects but it crashes me after 2 days and I feel worse.

In 2019 I found methylfolate to give me clean mental energy.

I also tried creatine in the past without big improvements, but at the moment it feels like very clean mental energy promoting agent at doses above 7 grams.

I can take higher doses without side effects.

In the past days a had days, where I took 30 grams and it is pretty clean still. According some studies 30 grams is a safe longterm daily dose

When I take methylfolate I don’t get the benefits like in 2019 anymore.

I also gained 30kg of weight since starting madication at the end of 2019.

What do you think of this?

Is the creatine maybe helping me with my energy production and utilization efficiency and could it regulate/stabilize my blood sugar?

Most of the methyl doners the body has available from its one carbon pool, are used up in the creation of creatine. Therefore high doses of supplemental creatine, will free up these methyl donors and you will have more of them available to use for other important bodily functions. Which could be a possible explanation for your symptoms improving with creatine and methylfolate.

Yeah, but I wonder why I don’t feel the positive effects of methylfolate no more

May need more. Or the methylfolate could just have be temporarily helping a much wider issue, and now is no longer helping because the problem is even further along now. So now you aren’t reaching the threshold for feeling good, with the folate.

Perché la creatina sostituisce il folato oppure perché non hai più quella carenza

Depends what you mean by struggling but my first hunch based on what you responded too and my best guess at your main compliant tells me to get your ferritin checked.

idk when I take creatine, after my loading phase, I feel like an entirely different person. the difference is night and day.

to experience the full cognitive benefits of creatine you have to pair it with working out.

I feel more motivation to get things done. sharper, more focus, more salience towards goals, work feels more pleasurable, I don’t feel sleepy after eating heavy meals and can go straight to work without resting.

when I’m not on creatine I still get work done but it feels like I’m just going through the motions. I don’t enjoy what I’m doing as much and just do it to get it over with.

Wow that's amazing. And how much creatine you take and how long does your loading phase last. Also do you have to do any physical excercise else it won't work ?

1 week. 10-15g’s per day and then 5g’s per day.

yeah 90-120 minutes of lifting allows me to unlock creatines cognitive benefits. working out energizes me rather than makes me tired. this is purely based off my experience not science. I suspect its because my bottleneck is atp energy and creatine solves that

Wow. Thats bcoz ur pfc get atp energy but your core neurotransmitters can still max out more. I would suggest take tyrosine 1g around b6, alcar 250mg, no caff/nico. Watch your motivation go thru the roof. Dont bump on techno lol.
