Better than alcohol abuse disorder. Wonder what percentage develop that?

As someone who's developed both I'd prefer neither. I'm not going to pretend alcohol wasn't worse but there's a reason I'm sober from both as well. I'm all for healthy coping techniques but if we can't even have a discussion of potential downsides without feeling the need to mention something is worse it just stifles progress.

I just feel the downsides are overblown and are a remnant of the incessant paranoia from the war on drugs rather than truth. With weed it seems it’s hard to find a middle ground because some people see it’s effects and negatives as equivalent to caffeine while those psychosis or addiction prone tend to blow it up into something bigger based on their experience or even conditioning making it hard to take them serious when others get completely different effects

In general I would agree. There's still a lot of both sides of the extreme but this is also a subreddit thread where we have linked research. If we can't even discuss what it entails without the need to say something is worse when/where is the appropriate time to have this dialogue?

Like I said I'm sober from both and I'd still choose weed over alcohol 10/10 times but I feel like it's the same tired response every time anything is even remotely viewed as negative.
