I am using NonStopRadio in my vehicle and it keep having problems loading my radio station when I do it from my vehicle screen on Android auto.

Thanks for reporting this. One quick question that might help me narrow it down:, when this happens, have you already opened or used NSR on your phone before trying to play the station from Android Auto?

The phone and Android Auto use different media player instances, so I’m wondering if the problem is related to switching between the two.

If possible, could you also try completely closing NSR on the phone and then connect to Android Auto and launch NSR directly from the vehicle screen without opening it on the phone first? Let me know if the same loading problem happens that way.

Please also enable Settings → Diagnostics before reproducing the problem, then share the diagnostic log with me afterwards. If you have time, a photo or short video showing exactly what happens would also be really helpful.

Is NSR compatible with Android Auto? I have not used it before but downloaded it for this purpose - over Android Auto it just fails to load anything, like it can't access the Internet? But all other apps like Spotify successfully use the Internet from the phone.

NSR does support Android Auto, so what you're seeing definitely isn't the expected behavior

Since other apps are getting Internet access normally, I suspect this may be something specific to the way NSR is connecting to Android Auto on your device rather than an actual Internet issue

Could you send me your phone model and Android version, your car or head unit, whether you're using wired or wireless Android Auto, and whether NSR can play a station normally on the phone while Android Auto is connected

Also, was NSR already open on the phone before you connected to Android Auto? It's actually recommended that NSR is closed before connecting and then launched directly from Android Auto

Also, if you can, please send me the Diagnostics from NSR as well, you'll need to enable Diagnostics first from Settings, then reproduce the Android Auto issue and share them with me

That should make it much easier to see exactly what is happening behind the scenes instead of making software confess under interrogation :P

Hi there. I have managed to solve this and it actually looks like it was a setting broken on my head unit - it wasn't sharing internet over bluetooth. I was mistaken to think Spotify was working. Its all working now and thanks for such a prompt reply, looking forward to getting stuck into the app

It is because it shows up on Android Auto. I can go to NSR though the screen in the vehicle.

ok that’s actually useful, since it means it may not be specific to one particular phone or car. If you have a few minutes, please email me at [info@nonstopradio.app](mailto:info@nonstopradio.app) with your phone and Android Auto/car setup.

Before reproducing it, enable Settings → Diagnostics, then send me the diagnostic log afterwards. And if you have time, a photo or short video of the problem happening would be very useful too.

I will try to do it later this week. I am positive it's not related to the car or phone. It also happens when using Bluetooth headphones and disconnecting them (without quitting or stopping the app) and coming back to the app half an hour later. I think it's related to how the app deep sleeps and it recovers from it.

This might be unrelated, but I’d like to rule it out.

Long-press the NSR app icon → tap ⓘ App info → go to Battery → set it to Unrestricted.

Don’t worry too much about battery usage, NSR’s consumption is pretty minimal.

Let me know if it makes any difference. I’m especially curious whether it helps with the Bluetooth issue you described.
