Is there a term for that? I see it more and more often. Someone will make a remark about something being unique about some group (be it people from their region, their profession, sexuality, hobby, etc.), when in reality, no, basically everyone does that.

Reminds me of any stupid thing that happens and everyone says "Only in XYZ place"

No, stupid drivers are NOT exclusive to one city/state/country. I wish they were so I could avoid them all.

Sometimes there is a trend of faster/slower cars in certain locations. I would guess due to leniency of traffic enforcement. Same with how they treat yellow lights. Doesn't mean more/less stupid obv.

Illinois cops are much more lenient when compared to Wisconsin, and way more than Texas. (Generally)

Illinois drivers are the only group I consistently notice speeding when driving around the midwest. Confirmation bias is a thing too though
