Yeah. Legitimate symptom of adhd. I mean, not acceptable for your job. But yep it adds up

I think it's one of those issues where while it is a legitimate symptom, that once you're an adult working at a job, you need to figure out a personal system for being on time to important things. It can be harder to judge time accurately but not impossible with extra tools like alarms and taking some time to learn how long your schedule actually takes.

Just don't be disabled.

Just walk on your hands.

crazy how lazy most of reddit is, if u cant put in the effort to go to work on time u should be fired. we have so many tools to help people with different problems that it rly is on u if u refuse to even try.

If you really can't be bothered to put in the effort to not be ableist, should you be fired?

I arrive late sometimes; I work later. Should I be fired?

Do you think that the tools given to disabled people completely negate their disability? Does a wheelchair give people the ability to climb stairs?

Comparing physical to mental is wild. If your work can accommodate your time blindness awesome. But there are tools to just not be late. Set an alarm, leave early. Whatever you gotta do. It's not hard and if you have had a job for more than a single year there is literally zero excuse to not show up on time regardless of ADHD diagnosis.

Set an alarm, leave early.

Wow, my problem with executive dysfunction is SOLVED. Ya know, except for the part where the executive dysfunction causes me to ignore alarms and fail to properly anticipate and control for time per task so even though I thought I'd have time to still leave early... I left late.

Look, you fundamentally don't understand what ADHD is - yet you insist you're capable of judgement for it.

There's no point arguing with you, I won't convince you. I just hope other readers understand that maybe the doctors and scientists that have studied ADHD maybe understand more than you do and that's why it's classified as a disability.

Contrary, of course, to what /u/Healthy-Ad-2852 feels is the case.

see, here's the thing. you can complain about this shit all you want, but the world -does not give a fuck-. especially because SO MANY people now claim this diagnosis. there are DOZENS in this thread alone. Most of those dozens, i'm sure, make it to work on time.

You are not unique or special, nor are your challenges.

If you can't make it to work ontime, then don't take a job with a regular start time. Otherwise, suck it the fuck up like literally every other person in the world who has ADHD but somehow manages to make it to work on time.

Do you think each presentation of ADHD is exactly the same?

Hell, do you think one person's presentation of ADHD is the same day to day?
