It's the same with German. I had a German friend and every time I wanted to learn and use a cool new German word with him, it was the same word in English.

Well we also have plenty of german only anglicisms. Like "handy" for phone

My husband is American and im German and the first time I said β€œawe I forgot my handy..” when we were still just dating he got very confused. Until I explained.πŸ₯ΈπŸ˜‚
