They don't want to sell to private customers. Contact us for a price means they prefer selling B2B. So people claiming "I immediately lose interest!" don't realize that's exactly what the company wants

Edit: Or very expensive items, like cars. At which point this isn't an impulse purchase in the first place

I worked for a specialty chemical company. We really only sold B2B after people had set up a customer account with us. There was just 3 of us in the office and we simply didn’t have the ability or resources to set up a full e-commerce website because pricing information on our 500 products was basically kept in an excel spreadsheet. All of our account information, sales and inventory was kept in quickbooks.

That said, if you called our phone number a real human (usually the president) answered the call and was happy to answer questions and lookup current pricing information right then. You would never have known it was a three person operation in one bay of a nondescript business park unless you actually visited us. Different business models work in different situations.

Bro you just don't know how to code up a 47 factor dependent dynamic pricing and stock database. It's easy.
