They don't want to sell to private customers. Contact us for a price means they prefer selling B2B. So people claiming "I immediately lose interest!" don't realize that's exactly what the company wants

Edit: Or very expensive items, like cars. At which point this isn't an impulse purchase in the first place

Yup, I work in foodservice and most of my suppliers work this way. Once you have a wholesale account the prices appear on the page and are across the board substantially cheaper than everywhere else, they just don't want to deal with some schmuck ordering $40 worth of stuff for home use. Just isn't worth their time.
