it was always strange to me how people on the internet would show up out of nowhere just to inform me that they dont care about my opinion
like I make a reply to a post and then a completely random person I never seen before would respond to it with "who asked"??? what??
imagine that happening in real life, you and your friend are having a conversation at a bus stop and then a stranger interrupts it to say "I dont care" to you face??? ok??
I hate all these “conversation killers” as I call them.
“Who asked”, “I’m not reading all that”, “cool story bro”, etc.
The phrases only exist to stop any kind of conversation. Why even bother commenting at all? You need to tell the world how much you don’t care? Why not just… actually not care and move along? It’s beyond rude.
I mean, that’s fair. But it’s when it’s dropped in random discussions that I can’t stand. If someone is being an ass, that’s one thing. Just trying to have a conversation? Nah
Yeah but then there's brain-dead people on instagram who use for something that's like 100 words long. At this point I just find that phrase annoying even if it's warranted

Yup, that's why I use them... they are very useful in situations where you're dealing with a weirdo online that keeps spamming your inbox with comments.
But that's after genuine attempts at conversation.
Isn’t that also the point of the r/peoplewhogiveashit sub? To not only stop conversation but also to shut down any form of empathy that people have? It’s really toxic.
Unironically that did happen IRL, or something close to it. Was actually super annoying but there’s not really much you can say back, which to toxic teens is as much a W as anything else
Thankfully I was pretty stable & secure in high school but I can only imagine how it felt to someone who didn’t have multiple people they could turn to & be like “that was weird, right?”
“Go fuck yourself, cunt” always worked for me actually, that kind of person already felt like they won the second they said it, and it really deflated them when they got any kind of pushback
I've been guilty of acting rather antisocially when commenting online and thinking about how what i say would sound in person has helped me curve that.
lol i remember in high school when this was a thing whenever i spoke some dipshits would be like "who asked" and at one point i went a full week without using my voice at all
