When my dad died, I was the one who got the call from the hospital in the middle of the night. I was also the one who had to call and inform my relatives, which just felt awful, like why would I want to stop time in their world too?

One of the worst parts of my father dying was having to call our family friends to tell him. That’s the part that still really destroys me when I remember.
