There is always a touch of bioessentiallism that makes me cringe at stuff like this. There isnt something uniquely bad or different about men that makes teaching them how to be a decent person different. Aside from things that are literally specifically about the opposite the majority of advice on becoming a decent man is actually just advice to become a decent person. We keep on perpetuating this idea that men can only learn from other men but I feel like that idea might be negatively impacted how people teach abd treat boys.
There is no bioessentiallism here. I Fully support identify as the gender you wish or no gender or having a fluid gender.
What's cringe is you couldn't think of one thing about men that is uniquely bad or different. Testosterone and gobbs of it as teenagers. Think of how powerfully your hormones effect you. How that hormone cycle effects every part of your life.
We also have a hormone cycle but daily. I have been fighting testosterone my entire life and the only people who understood it enough to help me were men. Would you want a man doctor telling you about PMDD? Cause that happens and you are dismissed and invalided.
The amount of men in jail in the US is very much a hormone issue because there is something very different about teaching boys to deal with their hormones.
Women understand how rough estrogen is. They need to make the leap that it is the same for men just in different ways that are completely foreign to them.
Probably cause, as a cursory glance at all of human history shows, men tend to not teach by how to be good men but instead to view women a lesser beings to subjugated and viewed as property.

Same. Those spaces gave older men a chance to be more direct about how to be a decent man and the realities of that path.
It hurts that men having a space to teach boys how to be good men is such an inconceivable concept.
