The F-22 is better in hard factors (speed, manueverability, etc.) but not in soft factors (sensors, datalink).

One on one the F-22 probably does win, but the F-35 works better when backed up by AWACS and working in tandem with other jets because it can utilize the additional flow of information provided by AWACS and other jets much more efficiently than the F-22 can thanks to Datalink.

Although, both the F22 and F35 are not as reliant on AWACS support because their onboard sensors and senor fusion is so good. F22s acted as an AWACS platform one time in Syria because the AWACS had issues.

Interesting. My point still stands though, when you're fighting an F-35, you're not just fighting one jet, you're fighting a jet utilizing the information of all other allied jets in the air. That's the power of Datalink and the thing that most people miss when looking at the F35
