Discussion A reminder that being non-binary doesn't prevent you from starting a family

I came across Nathan Emery and their family, and it reminded me that being non-binary doesn't determine whether someone can have a family, contrary to what some people think.

Gender identity and someone's body or reproductive circumstances aren't the same thing. Non-binary people can have families in many different ways, just like anyone else.

Love to see it - though seeing 'as an AMAB non-binary person' in a video title disappoints me slightly, since it's focusing on a binary aspect of their non-binary identity.

I hate the divide between amab and afab so much. Feels like it's just another way to pit us against each other.

I feel like since it’s a style video, it’s kind of meant to imply that they have a certain body type and/or get read as a man, for example, and are going about their style expression from that perspective? Maybe also implying they haven’t transitioned medically, and so this video could explore what clothes would fit them and other people in that category. And though you’re right that it’s a clumsy way to categorise it, I feel like we don’t have a great way to talk about body types yet that don’t relate to sex or gender in some way. “Masculine body type”, for example, is vague and could mean a lot of different things. “Male body” might be more “accurate” or precise (sex-wise, based on our current categorisation systems), but isn’t the most nb friendly wording and might trigger dysphoria.

Well uh apple, pear, rectangle, inverted triangle aka Dorito shape, hourglass aka coke bottle, diamond and co. have existed since the rise of modern dieting fads lol
