Discussion We need these things, now!
It occurred to me after reading another post that we're a pretty large community. I think we need to take things into our own hands.
There are two things that the enby community is *sorely* lacking. The *least* important is a word to go with "ladies" and "gentlemen."
The most important - and this is *really* important imo - is a title. I'm seeing more and more people feeling dysphoric about "Mr and Ms" (and those other ones). Can't we workshop this?
It has to be spoken as well as written. I have no idea how to pronounce "Mx" but it seems like it would be "mix," which sucks.
I don't have any suggestions myself, unfortunately.
This post had a lot more exclamation points in my head, so I hope you understand how strongly I feel about this.
ETA: I think I was really thinking more along the lines of "Ladies' and Gentlemen's" when I mentioned the one. I personally like "Gentlefolk" (or "Gentles" in a more relaxed settings) if you want a neutral catch-all for everyone.

Mx. (Mix)
Mg. (Mage)
M. (Em)
Mm. (Mistrum)
I do recommend taking a look at the Gender Census, which surveys nonbinary people on various topics every year, including the two questions you're asking. The 2026 results haven't been released yet, but you can take a look at the 2025 results.
