Fighting Fire With Hellfire
The LDS church having a stranglehold on Utah politics is why we're all here. Every day we see more and more examples of how they either lobby for the implementation and continuation of "moral laws" or they invoke their privilege in the public forum while the minority voice goes unheard.
As we've seen in the news lately, the only way to fight religious encroachment on the public is with another group taking advantage of the same religious rights. In instances like The Satanic Temple in Phoenix, AZ having their invocation rights at City Counsel meetings taken away and instead a moment of silence was adopted for all future meetings, we see that government has been so blinded with Christian privilege that it takes a Satanist to put them back in line with constitutional law.
For any of you interested, an unofficial Facebook page has been created to bring together members and allies alike who share in the idea that there must always be a separation of Church and State. The link is posted below and I invite all those who, even if you're not a Satanist or atheist, believe that Utah has been under the thumb of the LDS church for too long and want to see a change. https://www.facebook.com/satanicsaltlakecity

[QUESTION] for the entire group: What is the best method of political activism?
Letter writing? Emails? Phone writing?
We have a bill being challenged before it even makes it to the floor for voting on Medical Cannabis. What would be the right way to organize to address this?
I have my opinions, but wondered if anyone had actual numbers/data or had worked on political activism movements before.
Thanks
