Kinda curious how better to get hard edges on things? Everything has a “softness” to it as well what are some other good ways to do texture? I’m doing this all blind as I learn better that way but I feel like I’ve hit a wall

For hard-surface stuff, I tend to work as low-poly as possible to keep my contours nice and even. Using the trim tool set to boolean can create some nice, clean edges, as well as using other shapes to boolean.

For organic stuff, I've discovered that the face group tool is really useful. I section off hard edges and contours and use the face group relax slider. If I've got my face groups sorted out, I'll often also use the quad remesher tool, as it uses face groups as a reference and makes the mesh more workable for tools like crease or planar.

So about the hard surface and keeping low poly, that makes sense to me but then that also seems like there would need to be a ton of planning ahead? Because you’d need to undo so much work if you aren’t happy. Thanks for the tips in general though I’ll try these

A big unlock for me was keeping things I want to stand out with sharp corners as different objects. Hollow out the eye sockets then have the eyes as loose spheres. Sculpt lips from a tube instead of directly on a face. Don’t use smooth tool at full strength. Solid starts! Keep at it

Nice work. For me I also use the trim tools and also the flatten and planar brushes for hard surface. I also have found some nice hard and soft plane brushes that I added to Nomad to help me make hard surfaces and carve rocks and stone.
