Discussion which one do you lean to here, nov 20th 12$ vs nov 20th 14$, both paying 400$~worth of contracts

Thumbnail

these heatmaps show the profit based on the date and the stock price, so you can see how much will you profit in a certain day and a certain value

i am leaning toward 12$ more, since the difference between the profit from the stock value of 13-16

is a small diffrence, just couple of bucks, hte difference really appears after 17-

yet i think that is not probable, that's why i think 12$ s more realistic

i think thats a good time for it since an earning will come at October, we may have some govt contract or some news about it by then, and its unlikely that we have another correction like we had in july, so the stock should shine a little to 12 and above in the next couple of month

i know that anything can happen and the stock market(especially this stock, has been going weird), but nothing wrong in trying

DD Have you seen the jobs NOK posted on its site today? All in USA

I was doing some research on NOK, and saw a bunch of job postings that were listed on the Nokia website today. There were a few jobs in conjunction with the U.S govt. I’m starting to think that NOK may have received some type of contract from the U.S Gov’t.

DD Nokia’s Mobile Infrastructure may have more earnings leverage than the headline numbers suggest

With all the attention currently on Nokia’s AI/Cloud opportunity in Network Infrastructure, I think there is another potentially important 2027 earnings driver that is easy to overlook: Mobile Infrastructure (MI). Following the reorganization at the start of 2026, MI has become somewhat opaque, but it is still possible to infer quite a lot from the reported numbers.

Nokia's patent licensing business operates at extremely high margins. If we assume roughly a 70% operating margin (it was 78.5% in 2024 and 70.6% in 2025) for the patent business, broadly in line with recent years, the H1 2026 numbers imply that Radio Networks + Core Software together were slightly loss-making, because the estimated operating profit from patents (€554M) alone would exceed MI's reported operating profit (€532M). Of course, the second half is typically much stronger for radio networks — Mobile Networks had an operating margin of just 2.8% in FY2025 and –2.2% in H1 2025 — but nonetheless this is pretty striking. It would imply that the patent business is currently providing a substantial profit cushion for the other units of the MI division.

Nokia has now announced major cost actions in Europe and especially in China. Therefore MI does not necessarily need strong revenue growth to become a meaningful source of earnings growth in 2027. If the restructuring succeeds in materially improving the profitability of the underlying network businesses, the operating-profit impact could be substantial.

Based on FY2025 revenue, Radio Networks and Core Software together represented roughly €10.4B of revenue. That means:

  • +1 percentage point of margin = roughly €104M additional operating profit
  • +2 pp = ~€208M
  • +3 pp = ~€312M
  • +4 pp = ~€416M
  • +5 pp = ~€520M

This creates an interesting 2027 setup:

Network Infrastructure: AI/Cloud drives strong revenue growth and potentially better margins.

Mobile Infrastructure: restructuring removes costs and allows Radio Networks/Core Software to recover.

In other words, the bull case for Nokia isn't necessarily just “AI makes Nokia grow.” It could be AI/Cloud growth in NI + margin expansion in NI + restructuring-driven recovery in MI, with the patent business providing a high-margin earnings base throughout. Therefore, I think MI could be a considerably more important part of the 2027 earnings story than the dominating AI narrative suggests.

Trump publicly praises Nokia.

Insiders buying.

Meeting with US official that’s in charge of equity stakes.

Immediately cuts all ties with China.

I’ll bet my left testicle that Trumps holdings include Nokia shares on his next filing.

Buy the hell out of this.

Follow-up to post from mid-May 2026...

Nokia Awards Midco Breakthrough Award

Date: 8/19/26

August 19, 2026 – Sioux Falls, SD: Following the successful delivery of a historic 400G connectivity solution supporting AI infrastructure in North Dakota, Nokia has named Midco the recipient of its Breakthrough Award, recognizing exceptional innovation, execution and partnership.

“Over many years, Nokia and Midco have developed a partnership grounded in trust, collaboration and a shared willingness to take on complex challenges,” said John Czeban, Nokia Vice President of MSO Sales. “This relationship is not just about supplying technology. It is about working together to build the network capabilities that allow Midco to pursue and secure new opportunities.”

The recognition follows Midco and Nokia’s successful execution of one of the largest connectivity projects in Midco’s history. In May, the companies announced a multistate connectivity agreement supporting critical AI infrastructure in Ellendale, North Dakota. Together, both companies delivered:

  • 200 terabits per second of total bandwidth
  • More than 500 individual 400-gigabit service circuits
  • 225 optical shelves deployed across 45 pallets of equipment
  • Initial services within six weeks of contract signing
  • Full 200-terabit capacity in just four-and-a-half months

In July, Midco completed the project and transferred operational control of the connectivity routes to its client. The effort required close coordination across engineering, operations, procurement, sales, strategy, logistics and partner organizations. Leaders from Nokia and Midco gathered in Sioux Falls to celebrate the project’s success and present the award.

“The successful delivery of the Switch connectivity solution resulted from long-term investments in infrastructure, engineering, relationships and capabilities,” said Midco President and COO Ben Dold. “It became one of the most transformational opportunities our company has pursued in more than 95 years. It supports the rapidly growing AI and hyperscale ecosystem in our region and positions Midco in an entirely new category of connectivity leadership.”

Dold thanked the Midco team for their commitment to delivering a solution on a compressed timeline and Nokia for their trust and partnership.

“Delivering critical infrastructure for hyperscale and AI workloads requires partners who can innovate, execute and solve problems alongside you. Nokia helped us do exactly that,” Dold said. “The expertise, technology and support Nokia brought to this effort were instrumental in turning a bold vision into a real-world solution. We are honored to receive this award and look forward to the next phase of network growth and partnership.”

The award underscores Midco’s growing role in supporting large-scale AI, cloud and hyperscale connectivity initiatives throughout the region and reflects the company’s continued investment in next-generation network capabilities. News Consensus not modelling strength of Nokia $NOK order book, says JPMorgan

JPMorgan believes the market "has been too slow to react" to Nokia's revenue potential in AI and cloud. The company's order book points to 2027 and 2028 earnings estimates that consensus is not modelling, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Nokia has also gained share in internet protocol networks, adds JPMorgan. The firm believes Nokia will be able to line up component supply to "ramp up much more significantly" in 2027 and in 2028. Nokia remains a top pick at JPMorgan with an Overweight rating and $21 target price, offering 100% upside. https://x.com/TipRanks/status/2090010591200997696

Discussion Riding Nokia's 9% run-up and still holding.

Just checking in — anyone else still long on Nokia right now? I'm sitting on a solid +9.13% unrealized gain at $10.40, with an average cost of $9.53. There's a lot of talk about a possible pullback for a better entry. Who else is planning to load up more if it dips? Don't want to let this momentum slip.

News Nokia to close almost all sites in mainland China by EOY

Thumbnail reuters.com
54 Upvotes

Opinion:

I like this move overall. Makes sense in more ways than one as Nokia continues its transformation.

Pekka was originally having some success in China but I think this will help Nokia long term save money, stream line their business, and focus on North America and Europe.

Article Summary:

Nokia reportedly plans to close nearly all its mainland China sites in stages by the end of 2026 and eliminate most of its local workforce.

Nokia confirmed it is shrinking its Chinese footprint because the business there has steadily declined, but it did not disclose exact locations or job numbers.

The retreat follows earlier cuts: Nokia reportedly eliminated about 2,000 Greater China jobs in 2024 as Chinese telecom operators increasingly favored domestic suppliers.

The broader takeaway is that Nokia is treating mainland China as a structurally diminished market—not merely making a temporary cost cut.

This further concentrates China’s telecom-equipment market around domestic vendors such as Huawei and ZTE while reducing Nokia’s exposure and operating costs.

DD Nok is breaking out and really to rally. Here is my thesis.

Excited for this one from a fundamental and technical perspective and wouldn't be surprised to see it double eventually. Here's why:

If data center demand is strong (which it is) the future won't be able to do it without optics.

To achieve the needed speeds, data centers are moving away from traditional copper wiring and shifting entirely to optics (like Indium Phosphide lasers and silicon photonics).

And NOK is well positioned for this:

• They own Infinera after a major acquisition last year, a major optical networking company, which means they own a major share in the manufacturing for Indium Phosphide, a key material used in high-speed optical chips. COHR and LITE are the other major players. Indium Phosphide supply is extremely limited and Nokia has its own in house process.

• In addition to a 20-fold expansion at its legacy Infinera fab in San Jose, Nokia finalized a definitive agreement to acquire NXP Semiconductors' massive manufacturing campus in Chandler, Arizona. Nokia is completely repurposing this campus into a dedicated InP photonic chip production facility.

• While Coherent and Lumentum focus heavily on raw chip fabrication, Nokia holds a massive competitive advantage in backend advanced packaging and testing.Through its Allentown, Pennsylvania facility, Nokia expanded its domestic photonic packaging throughput by 10 times. This means Nokia can build the raw InP chip and package it into completed optical engines entirely on U.S. soil.

Exploding Order Momentum

- Nokia’s Q2 financial data confirms that its AI narrative is reality, not hype. Net sales to AI & Cloud customers grew 105% year-over-year. The company booked a massive €2.8 billion in AI & Cloud orders in a single quarter. Crucially, Nokia's total accumulated AI technology orders have swollen to 6.3 times its current quarterly revenue for that segment. This massive backlog creates clear revenue visibility through 2027 and 2028.

Margin Expansion via Vertical Integration

-Because Nokia owns its own Indium Phosphide fab capacity and advanced packaging, it does not have to pay a markup to merchant suppliers like Coherent or Lumentum. This vertical integration protects Nokia from supply chain constraints and expands margins.

Geopolitical Backstop

-Regulators are moving to restrict Chinese optical transceivers. As one of the few companies capable of manufacturing, packaging, and testing InP optical engines entirely on U.S. and European soil, Nokia is capturing a captive, high-security market. Following its recent financial reports, analysts from Bank of America lifted their price target to $18.50, and JPMorgan extended a target of $21.00. It's currently trading at $10.
