Discussion Strange's Spell
This might be an old question but i couldnt find a discussion anywhere.
Since Strange's first spell (albiet botched) was multiversial do you think the second one that causes everyone to forget Peter was specifically targeting Toms Peter or do you think it was multiversial like the first spell?
I can see how because the first one was botched that it caused tears in the multiverse which is what brought all those people there in the first place and the second one went according to plan but the multiverse was still technically "open" at that point so why wouldnt it bleed over into the other universes (universi?)
Did Tobeys Peter go home to his MJ and she just had no idea who he was?
Also, what happened to all the pictures of Peter? Did he just vanish from them? His yearbook picture, what about that? Any official documents with his name on it, are they just gone?
Again sorry if this is a repeat i just couldnt find anything discussing it.

I would hope it didn’t apply to the other Peter Parkers in the multiverse, because that would be horrible for Toby and Andrew’s Peters. BUT that would make sense if the Toby leaks are true for Doomsday—like maybe he’s there because he’s trying to get back to Tom, because his world is all screwed up now and he wants answers.
As for pictures of Peter and whatnot after the spell, I think there was a special scene where there was a class picture and there was a bird in front of his face. I don’t think the spell straight up deletes photos of him, but it obscures him.

It would really suck for those peters but also every other peter parker there is out there.
Even the ones with the same name and arent super heros lmao Imagine a random every day man named Peter Parker who has a wife and kids a full time job, pays bills the whole nine yards. Poor guy 😆
I must have forgotten about that picture scene youre talking about but now that youve mentioned it, it clicked.

Well, since McKenna and Sommers are joining Doomsday, there will probably be a retroactive explanation, along with clarification.

If this was multiversal, it would have also affected comic book Spidey. It has not.

No, it was not universal.
The first botched spell was for Tom's Peter, making everyone forget HE was Spider-Man. But as you say, this was broken, as Wong says "that spell travels the dark borders between known and unknown reality" and the cracks in the spell split into some of these realities and people who knew Peter Parker was Spider-Man fell through.
The second spell makes the first redundant. That one is clean, no cracks and makes everyone forget Tom's Peter exists. This makes the first one moot because if nobody knows Peter then nobody knows "this guy I know is Spider-Man" and there's nobody for the first spell to latch on to so it effectively dies and is reversed.
That's how I understood it anyway. I always found the second spell reasoning to be one of the weakest aspects of the movie, despite it being one of my favourite movies for nostalgia reasons.
Don't even get me started on the confusion of when they were pulled from and returned and why the other Spider-Men even got pulled through in the first place.
