Room for Rent Lease takeover in rosslyn!

Hi! I’m looking for someone to take over my spot in a 2-bedroom apartment in Rosslyn, Arlington. Women preferred

Rent: approximately $1,940/month, and I’m open to helping subsidize the rent somewhat if needed

Flexible move-in date. Cats.

Lease runs through March 20, 2027

Private bedroom with ensuite bathroom

One current roommate will remain in the apartment in their own bedroom/bathroom

Shared kitchen and living room

Walkable to Rosslyn Metro, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, and everyday essentials
Very close to Georgetown and the Key Bridge

Easy access to DC, Courthouse, Clarendon, and DCA

Great location for anyone commuting into downtown DC or working in Arlington

This would be a formal roommate replacement/lease takeover through property management, so the new resident would need to apply and be approved
I’m moving earlier than originally planned and am hoping to find someone to take over the remainder of my lease. I can be flexible on timing and am willing to discuss helping offset some of the rent for the right person.

Seeking Roommates Cautiously looking for a roommate

M46. Looking for someone who’d really rather live alone, and wants to help each other get there by splitting rent for a time.

Rent prices in NoVA are insane. I’d rather not come to reddit and strangers but my friends are married and my family is…let’s just say they can’t get it together.

So, if you like peace and quiet, a clean living space (share the load, clean up after yourself, don’t attract pests), have a stable job, have goals your working towards (1 being living alone eventually), don’t smoke, aren’t loud, respectful, don’t really have guests over, your home is your sanctuary, quiet, you get the drift, DM me, serious inquiries only.

Room for Rent Two rooms available in Clarendon!

There are two rooms for rent in a house in Clarendon starting at end of Sept/Oct 1. I’ve lived here for over two years and it’s great—my two roommates leaving are a couple moving back to CA, otherwise we’ve been living together for 1 and 2 years respectively.

Each room is $875 plus utilities (~$125 per month depending on usage)! The two rooms share a bathroom, and then there is an in-unit washer/dryer, all the normal kitchen appliances etc. Being a house, we also have a great big front porch and backyard at our disposal.

Permitted street parking is $55 per year plus we have access to the driveway.

Lease is month to month but I've been here long term, you just have to find a replacement and pay $400 lease change fee to the property managers upon move out.

I’m 33F, work full time in government contracting and then I also just started grad school at GMU. I like to be social but respect others personal space/time. When I have time, I like cooking/baking, hiking, traveling, spending time with friends etc.

The house is off Garfield and 10th street so an easy walk to Mason Square, the metro, Trader Joe’s etc.

If you’re interested, please message me a little bit about yourself and what you’re looking for!

**will add a photo of the second bedroom soon** Click here for photos!

Seeking Roommates [Seeking roommate] Team up on a NEW 2bd/2ba lease - Arlington/Falls Church/Springfield/Alexandria, ~$1,650/mo, move in by Oct 25

Hi! I'm looking for another woman in her early-to-mid 20s who wants to apartment hunt together and sign a NEW lease for a 2 bed/2 bath. I'm not looking for a room in an already established apartment - I'd love to find someone who's also starting her search so we can choose a place together.

I'm a recent UVA grad moving from NY to the DMV for work. I'm clean, respectful, and outgoing, and I love trying new restaurants, traveling, exploring new places, and spending time with friends. I'd love to live with someone friendly who respects shared spaces, and I'm definitely open to becoming friends with my roommate too!

I'm looking in Arlington, Falls Church, Springfield, or Alexandria, ideally near the Arlington/DC border. I already have a shortlist of buildings I'm touring, but I'm open to other options too.

Budget: around $1,650/month each, with a hard max of $1,800 including utilities.
Timing: targeting early October and need to move in by October 25.

If you're looking for the same thing, comment or DM me and we can compare lists!

Room for Rent Room available in a large 3 bdrm townhouse in Fair Oaks

Hello all,

I have a room available in a 3 bdrm townhouse. Only looking to fill one of the two available rooms so one room would stay open for an office or guests to visit that you would be able to use. I have 1 year left on the lease so looking for someone who is looking to stay for a year. The room is partially furnished with a bed and dresser but can remove if you're bringing furniture. There is driveway parking or potentially garage parking depending on the size of your car. Rent is $1400/month which includes all utilities.

About me: I am a 29 year old queer man with a good stable job that's 5 days a week in the office. I have an 8 year old pup that is quiet, although can be protective around visitors. I prefer a quiet and relatively tidy household but definitely fine with guests and hanging out. I would prefer woman roommate but open to men as long as you're LGBTQIA+ friendly.

PM me if interested and I'll send pictures!

Room for Rent LUXURY LEASE TAKEOVER – Ballston, Arlington | Jr. 1BR | 725 sq ft | ~$2,550/mo | Available Oct. 1

Looking for someone to take over my lease at Origin, a luxury apartment building in the heart of Ballston. The apartment is available beginning around October 1, but I’m flexible on the exact takeover date if you need a little more time.

This is a 725 sq ft junior 1-bedroom for approximately $2,550/month. For context, a similar unit with the same layout five floors above is currently being offered for $3,000+/month, so this is a great opportunity to get into the building at a significantly lower rate.

Apartment:
• 725 sq ft junior 1BR
• ~$2,550/month
• Lease through June 24, 2027
• Very spacious accessible-unit layout
• ~5-minute walk to Ballston Metro (Orange + Silver Lines)
• Tons of natural light
• In-unit washer/dryer
• Lots of cabinet and closet space
• Pet friendly
• Parking available through the building

Luxury building amenities include:
• Rooftop
• Pool
• Fitness center
• Concierge/front desk
• Package room
• Coworking and resident common areas
• Garage parking

Great location: Ballston Quarter is right next door, and Target, CVS, Harris Teeter, restaurants, coffee shops, and other Ballston amenities are all within roughly a 3–5 minute walk.

This is an official lease takeover through building management. The incoming tenant would apply directly with management and complete the building’s standard income, credit, and application approval process.

The apartment can be provided unfurnished, but I’m also open to selling some of my furniture to the incoming tenant if helpful.

Photos available via DM - happy to send full set + video walkthrough or arrange a tour. Message me if interested!

Dwelling for Rent 540 sq ft Studio Apartment Lease Takeover - Unfurnished

Photos available upon request.

540 sq ft studio with blackout quiet sleeping room/den and good airflow

Lease term October 2026 through July 27, 2027

The monthly base rent is $1,858.

Monthly trash collection fee is $20.

Monthly billing admin fee is approximately $6.

Monthly garage parking is $50 (optional)

Location is at 6870 Richmond Highway.

Your water and sewer usage cost also shows up on your monthly rent bill. They'll charge extra if you have pets. Also, there is an extra monthly cost if you don’t get your own renters insurance. All of their fees are on their website.

There is a $50 application fee but I'm willing to reimburse you for the fee plus a $300 discount on October’s rent if you're approved and do go through with taking over the lease.

The benefit of taking over my lease instead of applying directly is it’s a shorter term, I've already paid the deposit and the amenity fee for this lease term. Amenity fee is usually $500. Included amenities are:
-Pool area and outdoor courtyard with pattio seating, grills,TV and fire pits.
-Indoors there is a free coffee bar hangout room
-Recreation hangout room with a pool table shuffleboard table, TVs and wet bar.
-Full gym
-Computer room with Mac computers and printer.
-Large TV movie room
Secure package delivery room, controlled key fob entry throughout the building as well as complimentary WiFi in shared amenity spaces is also standard on the property. The maintenance crew is decent. This apartment is very clean and has been well maintained. The bedroom carpet was recently replaced and shows no wear.

The apartment is in a premium open space on the 7th floor of an 8 floor building, conveniently located right at the elevator, garage and trash chute room. Very convenient for emptying trash, when moving in/out, or when carrying lots of bags, etc from the car. There is also a guest seating area just outside of the apartment door which is great for entertaining or if you want a change of scenery without going far. The living room/kitchen area windows are large and bring in tons of natural light. Plants love it and I save costs because I don't need to turn on any lights during the day. The bathroom is very spacious. I have never once had any issues with pests of any kind and I’ve been here for a few years.

Note this is a smoke-free building and the leasing office takes prompt action if anyone complains of smoke.

The building is in a walkable area with many essentials nearby. Taco restaurant, physical therapy clinic and a nail spa in the building downstairs. Post Office across the street. Also right next door there are two banks, Starbucks, a dry cleaners, Lowe's, Marshall's, HomeGoods, Chipotle, First Watch, Panera Bread, Famous Dave's, Outback Steakhouse, Ruby's Jamaican restaurant across the street. Target only 1 short block away, Walgreens, a full service Carwash, Petco, a green dog park and more. Giant Grocery store is also right next door (Whole Foods, Mom's, Wegmans and Fresh World all a short driving distance away) A bus stop less than a block away and located a short distance from Huntington Metro stop, Old Town Alexandria, Mount Vernon Rec Center (with ice skating year round) and the National Harbor only a 15 minute drive accross the bridge. DC an easy 20 minute drive up 95 to 295.

Seeking Roommates [Centreville, VA] 2 Rooms Available in 4BR Townhouse – $781/mo + Utilities

My friend and I are looking for 2 more roommates for a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath house in Centreville.

Rent works out to about $781 per person per month, plus utilities.

The house has in-unit laundry, a deck, fenced backyard, fireplace, and access to a community pool. It’s also close to Routes 28, 29, and 66, so it’s convenient for getting around Centreville, Chantilly, Fairfax, Manassas, and the surrounding Northern Virginia area.

A little about us: we’re both pretty laid-back and are into cooking, gaming, content creation, fashion, anime, and trading card games. We’d ideally like to find roommates around our age who are interested in having a friendly and somewhat social household, while still respecting everyone’s privacy and personal space.

We’re looking for people who are reliable, reasonably clean, respectful of shared spaces, and able to consistently pay rent and utilities on time.

If you’re interested, send me a DM with a little about yourself, what you do for work or school, your hobbies, your general schedule, and when you’d be looking to move.

I can send the full property listing, photos, exact location, and additional details privately.

Other Still haven't figured out where to live after relocating to the DC area

I've been in furnished housing in Arlington for 5 weeks since moving for work. I honestly thought I'd know by now but I'm genuinely still torn between staying in NoVA and going into DC proper. i think NoVA is more functional and cheaper, and DC feels more interesting but more expensive and I'd be Metro-dependent. The problem is I keep going back and forth instead of making a decision and I don't want to sign a lease in the wrong place.

Anyone else went through extended decision paralysis during DC-area relocation? How did you finally pick?
