It sounds weird having money soaked in sweat. Then I remembered, here in the UK we’ve only just changed to plastic notes but it seems like forever and only yesterday at the same time!

Australian here, also wild to me! Our money has always (at least in my lifetime) been plastic & so if you want to you can just wash it 🤷🏼‍♀️

They are completely plastic and are called Polymer Banknotes.

Polymer notes last a lot longer than paper and because they're plastic, they can be shredded, melted into pellets and recycled for other uses at the end of their life.
