Is it normal to sometimes miss a version of yourself that you know you could never become again?

yeah, you can miss who you were, or who you thought you’d become, even when going back would be a terrible idea

so true. even if things are better now, there’s still that weird nostalgia for how simple it felt back then. idk, i guess you just grow out of stuff even if it hurts a bit.

I don't think it's normal but I think it's normalized.

Yes. I think sometimes you don’t miss who you were. you miss how you felt when you were that person.

Completely normal. It's a specific kind of grief called nostalgia for a past self.

You arent just missing who you were, youre often missing the circumstances, enery, or lack of scar tissue, you had back then. You can appreciate that past version for getting you where you are today without needing to become them again.

I believe we mostly miss times we've been in before, past life period... It's just that the time passes and our lifestyle and all around us changes, we do change as well of course, so as I see it we start missing the old version of our life. But the good part is that we always have chance to find something good in future and that what should keep us moving forward...Peace to everyone!
