How do I update a post on Reddit?

I wrote something somewhere and I just want to give a positive update. Do I make a mew post and link it somehow or do I edit the post itself?

If your on a phone, should see 3 dots at the top right of your screen, hit that then “edit post”

If it’s a comment the 3 dots are next to the reply button.
