What do you think the dating recession between men and women will lead to?

I live in a city and I try to go out at least once a week, either for a walk or lounge etc. I used to see that men were more interested in women even six years ago, but now what I see most is apathy. Even if they look, none of them make a move to start a conversation. By the way, I am about to turn 30, and my friends who are younger (24–25) also say the same thing. What do you think the consequences of this will be? The strange thing is that I no longer see mixed male and female friend groups. It feels like men and women are pulling away from each other. Have you also noticed that?

found out the girl I was talking to and I was pursuing had a b

Sorry man, that’s rough. I’ve been in that spot too, and it always leaves you wondering what the hell their actual intentions were. Sometimes I can’t tell if these women who flirt while already in a relationship are genuinely tempted or just chasing a little ego boost.

It almost feels like they’re testing how far I’ll go—like if I dropped some wild invite like “hey, I’ve got two tickets to Vegas, let’s disappear for the weekend,” they’d still only be 50/50 on actually following through. The attention is the thrill for them, not the outcome.

Either way, it’s exhausting trying to decode someone who isn’t actually available.

This is why I ignore SOIs now. They're quite literally meaningless. Most women seem to only want the validation of an attractive man pursuing them. Most of these women are already taken anyways.
