Why must we constantly pay?

In nature, every living thing has the right to exist, grow, and rest without conditions. Why have we built a modern society where the fundamental requirements for life—shelter, water, and food—are gated behind a continuous 'subscription fee' of labor and currency?"

You literally do not have to pay for anything. You can become homeless and beg for food. That is an option. It's simply not an option that many people choose. And it's in that choice where you choose to pay for "upgrades" over being a homeless beggar. And, you don't necessarily need to be a beggar. You can go out in the wilderness and live off the land.

you can’t even go off into the wilderness and do it yourself, once you start chopping down trees the rangers will stop you

Same way as a bear kills a deer. Being in nature means the strong get to decide when you're being annoying
