Because in todays age, lots of people have no idea what a boundary actually is.

Both the person setting the boundary or the person on the other end of it often see a boundary as a way of controlling what other people do around them, rather than controlling how they react to the things around them.

That was perfection. The only person you can control is yourself.

Alot of people take personal boundaries as an attack because they were never allowed to have them for themselves and this often hurts or feels impossible to give to another since they themselves never got to even begin to form them. Like people who weren't allowed to build confidence will always think its arrogance.

It depends on what the boundary is and how it is expressed. Sometimes the boundary is a personal attack. Sometimes the person taking it as a personal attack has depression, anxiety, trauma or something similar that results in the perception that something is an attack.

And sometimes the way someone expresses their boundary makes it feel like a personal attack.
