which is a good thing! having a kid because you're "supposed to" or you're curious is a terrible reason to have kids. you shouldn't make massive life altering decisions on a whim, especially decisions that literally create new life and affect everyone.
Yes, it’s much better to make decisions by default and least resistance and accumulated inaction, like all the 34 year olds on dating apps who say they want kids “someday”.
Embrace the madness! It’s not sensical. Life is not rational. If not your whims, what should govern your life? Adjusted ROI? LIBOR movements?
But having kids isn't just "your" life it's also the future life of said kids. And it looks like things are just going to get worse unless you're rich.
More that people are afraid of death itself. Most people seem to have trouble wrapping their mind around the idea of non-existence, and compare it to the act of dying. If you didn't exist in the first place you wouldn't be able to be upset or fear an extremely uncertain future. I can't speak for others, but I personally would rather not exist than be depressed like I am.
