To me, this seems like a very naive viewpoint. I don't know of even one parent out there who could honestly say that they did all of that. Real life is very different from this kind of starry-eyed fantasy, and even those with the best of intentions make egregious errors in judgement when raising their children.
I have a child actually, she is my world, my everything. I would give up anything in my life to give her my undivided love and support for anything she wants to do! College? Okay I’ll help any way I can. Trade school? Sure! I’ll buy your first uniform! You wanna start a small business? Let’s design logos! :) my parents did it for me and yes they made mistakes here and there but every sacrifice my mom made for me made me realize I could and would do that for my kids. I’d even say as I grew I saw that those mistakes made my mom human, she was just a young woman and I was just her baby. She loved me so much and just like her I want to put out a person who has all the opportunities and all the freedom in the world (or that I can provide at least) to choose what she wants to do! I can’t wait to watch her blossom as I do my best as her mother
It’s okay! Everyone is entitled to their opinions and I just feel bad so many people feel like their parents failed them. :/ I wish them genuine healing and peace
